Adobe’s free trial is a genuinely useful way to test whether Creative Cloud fits your workflow before paying — but it comes with a few things worth knowing upfront.
How the trial works
You get full access to the apps for a limited period, tied to an Adobe account and a payment method on file. It’s designed to convert into a paid subscription automatically, not designed to just quietly expire.
What happens when it ends
Unless you cancel before the trial period is up, Adobe will begin billing your card at their standard rate — usually the monthly price, which is the most expensive way to pay. If you decide to continue, switching to an annual licence at that point works out cheaper than letting the monthly billing continue.
If you liked it and want to continue
Rather than letting Adobe’s monthly billing run, a 12-month licence covers a full year at a lower effective cost, with no card left on file with a third party.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a credit card to start the trial?
Yes, Adobe requires payment details upfront even for the free period.
Will I lose my files if I cancel?
Cloud-saved files may become inaccessible until you resubscribe; locally saved files stay on your computer.
