The three options
- Acrobat X Pro – €49: the older, pre-Document-Cloud version. Core PDF creation, editing and conversion. No e-signature workflow.
- Acrobat Pro DC 2019 – €69: Document Cloud version, adds e-signature and more built-in editing tools.
- Acrobat Pro DC 2020 – €79: same DC toolkit as 2019, with the later updates Adobe shipped for the line.
How to choose
All three are perpetual keys — one payment, no subscription, activated the same way (via a trial download). Pick X Pro if your budget is tight and you only need basic PDF editing. Pick DC 2019 if you want e-signature and don’t mind the slightly older DC release. Pick DC 2020 if you want the newest Document Cloud version available as a one-time purchase.
Is the jump from X Pro to a DC version worth it?
If you regularly send documents out for signing, or need contracts approved digitally, yes — e-signature alone justifies the price difference for most business use. If you only ever create and lightly edit PDFs, X Pro covers that without the extra cost.
