Adobe Creative Cloud Alternatives Worth Considering

Creative Cloud is the industry standard, but it’s not the only option — here’s what people switch to and why most end up back on Adobe anyway.

Affinity Suite (Photo, Designer, Publisher)

One-time purchase instead of a subscription, covering roughly the same ground as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Genuinely capable software, but file compatibility and some advanced features (AI tools, certain plugins, industry-standard fonts/workflows) still favour Adobe, especially in agency and print environments that expect Adobe file formats.

Why most people stick with Creative Cloud

The real reason isn’t that Adobe’s tools are unbeatable app-by-app — it’s that clients, print shops, and collaborators overwhelmingly expect Adobe file formats, and the apps integrate tightly with each other (Illustrator artwork into InDesign, Premiere Pro footage into After Effects). Switching one app is easy; switching your whole workflow away from Adobe is the hard part.
