Office 2024 Download: The Official Way to Install It
Office 2024 download: the official way to get Office 2024 is through your Microsoft account at setup.office.com, after you redeem your product key. This guide explains that process, plus what to do if you already have a key and just need the installer again.
Before you download Office 2024
- You need an Office 2024 product key. If you do not have one yet, see Office 2024 Professional Plus.
- You need a Microsoft account to redeem the key and start the download.
- Office 2024 runs on Windows 10 or Windows 11. It is not available for Windows 8 or earlier.
- Free up at least 4 GB of disk space before installing.

How to download Office 2024 (with a product key)
- Go to setup.office.com and sign in with your Microsoft account.
- Enter your 25-character product key when prompted, then select Redeem.
- Go to account.microsoft.com/services, still signed in with the same account.
- Find Office 2024 in your list of products and select Install.
- Choose your language and whether you want the 32-bit or 64-bit version, then download.
- Run the installer file once it finishes downloading and follow the on-screen steps.

Common download and install problems
Download is very slow or stalls
Pause other downloads and streaming on your network, then resume. If it still stalls, sign out and back into account.microsoft.com/services and start the download again rather than resuming a partial file.
“Something went wrong” during installation
This usually means a previous Office installation was not fully removed, or a background process is locking files. Restart your PC, close any open Office apps, and run the installer again. If it persists, use the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant to fully uninstall old Office versions first.
Installer will not start, or you get a permissions error
Right-click the installer and choose Run as administrator. Standard Windows user accounts sometimes cannot complete an Office install without administrator rights.
Installation looks stuck at the same percentage
Large installs can pause for a minute or two while Windows verifies files, which is normal. If it has not moved for over 10 minutes, cancel, restart your PC, and try again with other applications closed.
Reinstalling Office 2024 later
Once your key has been redeemed, you do not need to enter it again on the same account. Sign in at account.microsoft.com/services on any PC and select Install to download it again, for example after a reset or on a replacement computer.
What about a direct ISO download?
Microsoft does not publish a public Office 2024 ISO for individual download in the way it does for Windows. Office is installed through the Microsoft 365 apps installer described above, which always pulls the current build. If a site offers an Office 2024 ISO file outside this process, treat it with caution, since it did not come from Microsoft and may not be safe or genuine.
