Adobe XD vs Figma: Which UI/UX Tool Should You Use?

Both are used for designing app and website interfaces — wireframes, prototypes, interactive mockups. The comparison comes up a lot because Figma has become the more popular choice among design teams in recent years.

Adobe XD

Included in Creative Cloud, so if you’re already paying for the All Apps plan, XD comes at no extra cost. It integrates well with Photoshop and Illustrator for moving assets between apps.

Figma

Browser-based and built from the ground up for real-time multi-person collaboration — several designers editing the same file simultaneously, viewable by anyone with a link, no software install required. This collaborative angle is the main reason many teams moved to it.

Which one should you pick?

If you’re already inside the Adobe ecosystem and design mostly solo or with a small team, XD is a reasonable default with no extra cost. If real-time collaboration across a distributed team is the priority, Figma’s workflow is built specifically for that.
